The chassis jumper allows the 2300 internal Common to be connected to a potential otherthan chassis. This is to be used with installations that employ Zener barriers to interface to hazardous environments, or whereverthe internal system ground must be connected to earth ground at a point otherthan where the monitoris mounted. Procedure to connect an isolated ground : 1. Pull up the jumper. 2. Strip wires connecting ends 6 to 7 mm (0.25 in). 3. Open contacts by turning screws counter-clockwise. 4. Insert wires into slots as shown. Tighten screws. The recommended torque to 0.22 to 0.25Nm (2 to 2.2 in-lb). 6. Check the wires through the enclosure do not short to the housing.

Power can be in the form of a site-wide distribution network or a 2006/95/EC compliant AC to DC power converter approved for use underIEC/EN/CS 60950-1. Regardless how the monitoris powered, the main power connection should be accessible to maintenance personnel to allow for safe disconnection of power whenever hardware is replaced orfield wiring is modified. Priorto connecting powerto the 2300, verify that the voltage and current capabilities of your power source are in the range listed in the specifications. To prevent damage to system components, it is prudent to include a protection element in the supply path forthe system. While the 2300 features internal fuses (3.5A) to interrupt power during fault conditions, these fuses require replacement of the entire monitor module once they have been exposed to an overload condition. It is easierto replace an external fuse orreset and external circuit breaker once the source of the fault has been remedied.
