The following figures show the typical test setup for verifying a 2300 Monitor. The first figure shows how to connect the necessary laptop/computer used to observe the output of the 2300 system. The second figure shows how to setup and connect the equipment that simulates the transducer signal inputs for a typical 2300 system. The function of the various components in the setup is described below. The laptop/computeris required for connection to the 2300 system and display of the processed data. Eitherthe straight or crossover Ethernet connection will work. Standard 10 Base-T/100 Base-TX Shielded Category 5 Cable with RJ-45 connectors (solid conductor) is required as well. The Function Generator main output simulates the dynamic (vibration or dynamic pressure) signal. The “SYNC” output of the function generator serves as a speed reference (when needed). The DC Power Supply simulates any necessary negative bias voltage. A Digital MultiMeter(DMM) is needed to verify the accuracy of the simulation input. The resolution of the DMM must be chosen appropriately depending on the level of accuracy required by the verification process.

The laptop computerthat is part of the test setup uses Bently Nevada Monitor Configuration to display output from the monitoring system and to reset certain operating parameters in the hardware. To perform the test procedures in this section, you must be familiar with the following features of the Configuration application: l Send / Receive and save configuration files (Referto the Help system in Bently Nevada Monitor Configuration software) l Enable and disable channels and alarms l Bypass channels and alarms l Display the Verification screen
